After going to our preferred restaurant (La Fraschetta Romanesca) and being told they were fully booked for the night, my family needed to find a replacement website. Malaterra ended up being our option. However, it was a terrible decision that left a sour taste in the mouths of our family. To start, when we were attempting to order our food, we were ignored for over 10 minutes! No one to be found. The food comes out in a reasonable timeframe, but the food is bad. The pizza is bland and poorly made; the cheese came completely off with most of my bites or the dough gave out and the pizza became a mushy mess. The gnocchi was even worse. What a shame! After eating, we needed to wait an additional 5 minutes before we got up and asked to pay the bill. To top it off, we were charged a SERVICE fee. For terrible service and bad food, we were appalled by the way we needed to pay a service fee. This restaurant is terrible with slow service, bland food, and unnecessary costs for you! Do yourself a favor and go to La Fraschetta Romanesca and get cheaper, and better food with even...

The design of the restaurant caught our eye while we were passing by and we wanted to try out fooled by good reviews. It seemed they couldn’t manage the the restaurant very well. The waiting time for taking the order was too long even though we asked for it several times. It was same for the other tables as well. Malaterra pizza was soaking wet and falling apart, difficult to eat, but the dough was tasty. Capriciossa had pickled ingredients only, which was quite disappointing. They prepared the drinks and made them wait for a good time on the bar countertop that ice already melted when it was on our table finally. The waiters behaved so carelessly and with a behaviour as if we were served for free. There was a very long queue inside the restaurant (which should have been outside) that was quite exhausting. Overall it was a pity, such a beautifully designed restaurant could have been managed...

The food was decent, just like any other pizzeria in Rome. The service staff was strange, spoke loudly and assumed anything regarding people's food habits just by their appearance. They didn't understand English well and removed ingredients/toppings based on their assumptions. They were also making several mistakes in bringing the ordered food. They were also pushing the guests to finish the dinner quickly and leave the tables so that they could accommodate other guests. Definitely not visiting again because of their service staff.

Excellent pizza! The best Italian crust we’ve had on our trip yet. It’s nothing like the stiff American pizza crust. 😂 You eat Italian pizza with a knife and a fork. The ambiance is great - colorful and foresty with tables big enough for larger groups. We’re a party of 5 and have had trouble with that so far. You could easily do 20+ in an off hour. We ordered the Bufala, the Melaterra, and the Boscaiola. They were all so good! We were so hungry we ate half of the pizza before I remembered a picture. Oh well. C’est La vie!

This Pizza and other snack place is crazily underrated. Obviously it starts with the food: the Neapolitan pizza were incredible. But the decor, seats, even the staffs outfits have been curated with care. Bonus: lots of Maradona memorabilia so for the fans of soccer that’s a plus. We came in on a weekday in May at 4pm and were starving - so glad we didn’t just buy a quick bite at a street corner eatery and entered this pizzeria instead. Highly recommended!
