After going to our preferred restaurant (La Fraschetta Romanesca) and being told they were fully booked for the night, my family needed to find a replacement website. Malaterra ended up being our option. However, it was a terrible decision that left a sour taste in the mouths of our family. To start, when we were attempting to order our food, we were ignored for over 10 minutes! No one to be found. The food comes out in a reasonable timeframe, but the food is bad. The pizza is bland and poorly made; the cheese came completely off with most of my bites or the dough gave out and the pizza became a mushy mess. The gnocchi was even worse. What a shame! After eating, we needed to wait an additional 5 minutes before we got up and asked to pay the bill. To top it off, we were charged a SERVICE fee. For terrible service and bad food, we were appalled by the way we needed to pay a service fee. This restaurant is terrible with slow service, bland food, and unnecessary costs for you! Read moreThe design of the restaurant caught our eye while we were passing by and we wanted to try out fooled by good reviews. It seemed they couldn’t manage the the restaurant very well. The waiting time for taking the order was too long even though we asked for it several times. It was same for the other tables as well. Malaterra pizza was soaking wet and falling apart, difficult to eat, but the dough was tasty. Capriciossa had pickled ingredients only, which was quite disappointing. They prepared the drinks and made them wait for a good time on the bar countertop that ice already melted when it was on our table finally. The waiters behaved so carelessly and with a behaviour as if we were served for free. There was a very long queue inside the restaurant (which should have been outside) that was quite exhausting. Overall it was a pity, such a beautifully designed restaurant could have been managed...
